The Hastings Open Bowls Tournament has a long and illustrious history, The first Tournament in Hastings was held in the summer of 1911 at the Central Recreational Ground in the centre of Hastings, East Sussex. The ground was the home of Cricket in Hastings and would go on to be so for over 130 years. The ground has since been built on and the Priory Meadow Shopping Centre stands there today.
